Sneak Peek of Little "J"! Turning 1!

Last time I photographed baby "J" she was a sleepy bundle and about 10 days old:) Mom said that she was very active and on the move when we set up her 1 year session. Mom was right! "J" was a tiny ball of energy, and she so reminded me of my second son who was the exact same size at a year! I loved how she kept coming over to me and putting her head on my lap...totally got my baby fix today:) I wasn't sure if "J" would sit for the first part of our day, the cake smash...but she did really great, and yes got quite messy!
After a quick bath and a change of clothes we gave "J' a set of pearls and we pleasantly surprised that she stayed with them and really hammed it up! I did not know she could stand yet, and she stood right up and smiled! Her eyes are naturally this amazing blue, no saturating or enhancing here...they are all hers! Mom, I know we totally surpassed our goal of "just one shot"...Ill be in touch soon so we can choose the images for her party!

EXTENDED NEWBORN SESSION

1 day-4 weeks old.

Extended newborn sessions run up to 2 1/2-3 hours, versus my standard sessions which average 60-90 minutes. During the extended session, we will capture awake, sleeping, nursing or feeding shots, as well as Mother baby, and or Mom, Dad and baby images. Extended time allows for 3 changes of clothing, a variety of newborn poses and shooting in bowl or basket. I provide a variety of super cute knit buntings, hats, headbands and tutus. I have found that to capture a newborn awake and asleep, it is best to allow extra time. This stage is very fleeting, so capturing all we can in one sitting is important. It is also important to take newborn pictures as early as possible. I recommend scheduling these between 1-6 days of the birth.

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS

I offer many different birth announcements, and also welcome custom orders. Discussing your preferences prior to the photo session allows me to capture exactly what type of images you would like to have on a card. About Me

Photography is my passion. I like to think of the outdoors as my canvas, and view images as art. I live in Naperville with my husband, 2 sons and daughter, and get a lot of inspiration from our daily lives...as well as a lot of experience! I believe that capturing natural images has a lot to do with the communication and connection I have with each client. Before booking a session, we will spend 10-15 minutes on the phone going over locations, clothing and some scenarios that ensure our session will be successful for everyone. I strive to capture candid real moments. Editing your images is a key part of creating my final product, and is included in my session fee. I use a variety of art finishes and professional editing programs to complete the look of the images in your gallery.

I have a photo journalistic approach to my sessions, and do not like to "pose" anyone. Once I start to communicate with the kids, our session will roll. If a child takes time to warm up, I prefer that parents not worry about how long this takes, and rather that they encourage their children to be themselves. When children are relaxed, I capture the best candid memories. My Sessions typically run between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on how the kiddos do and the number of people in the session.

I prefer natural light photography, on location or outdoors. I do offer in studio sessions during the winter months and at all times for newborns and maternity. One year old cake smash sessions are taken at my in home studio, or can be taken outdoors depending on the season and weather.
